Success for Profibus Australia at the Process & Control industry's Zenith Awards

A joint submission from Profibus Australia, WorleyParsons and Blochtech to the Australian 2013 Zenith Awards has won the 'Best Fieldbus Application' category.

The Southern Seawater Desalination Plant (SSDP) in Western Australia, one of country's largest desalination plants, utilises the reverse osmosis desalination process for its water purification process.

The SSDP plant makes use of a number of Profibus DP and PA networks throughout the plant. The majority of equipment (drives, valves, transmitters, etc) are all Profibus devices and are connected to the plant PLCs over the Profibus networks.

The Water Corporation of Western Australia, which owns the SSDP, utilises fieldbus technology, especially Profibus PA and DP, throughout all its water treatment and desalination plants.

The fieldbus system was designed by Brandon Lee from WorleyParsons in partnership with System Integrators, Blochtech.
