Leading industry communication protocols to be showcased at Profibus EXPO

Technical experts representing the world's most popular communication protocols in process and factory automation will participate in a round table discussion at the Profibus EXPO in November, hosted by Profibus Australia.

The 'Fieldbus Forum' is an innovative promotion designed by the PAA to showcase the leading protocols and create a better understanding of their competitive advantages and the relevance of multiple, integrated field communication in automation solutions.

The panel of technical experts will be selected from major automation and field instrumentation companies and will be chaired by an independent moderator.

Participating technologies will include Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet IP, Ethercat, FDT/DTM, Foundation Fieldbus, AS-i, Modbus TCP.

The Fieldbus Forum is a truly unique opportunity for EXPO visitors to gather at one centrally located event to meet with the experts and learn more about the latest in fieldbus communications and how these protocols can be used by users to increase productivity and profitability.

The format for the Forum will include brief presentations on each technology, followed by questions from the moderator aimed at giving visitors a better understanding of the technology's functionality and the applications for which they are best suited. Visitors will then have an opportunity to participate in a Q&A with the panellists.

Participating companies in the 'Fieldbus Forum' will include:

Schneider Electric – FDT/DTM

Pepperl+Fuchs – Foundation Fieldbus

IFM Efector – AS-i

Siemens – Profibus and Profinet

Schneider Electric – Modbus TCP

Beckhoff – Ethercat
