A unique Profibus Technology Forum will be held in Brisbane on September 16, 2009 at
The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre South Bank. The Profibus Association of
Australia (PAA) has brought together a number of prominent industry experts who will
share their views on Profibus’ recent developments, describe local applications of the
technology, and discuss the latest products and solutions.
The Forum will be combined with a Technology Exhibition where PAA members will showcase
their products and solutions in an interactive environment, demonstrating the power of
Profibus at all levels of the plant.
The no-charge event is targeted at Design Engineers, Process Engineers, Electrical
engineers, Instrument technicians, electricians, plant operators, and any professional
that intends to implement Profibus in the near future.

The United Group Infrastructure will present their experiences gained while implementing
Profibus at the Pimpama Water Wastewater Treatment Plant. Wang Components will share with
Forum participants the smart way their company implemented a plant automation solution
using Profibus. Tyco Flow Control has been accredited as the first Profibus International
Competence Centre in Australia and will discuss the importance of troubleshooting,
maintenance and the abilities of the analysis tool, ProfiTrace. Siemens will offer some
unique insights into ProfiSafe and detail the safety communications required to protect
operators and plants. Endress+Hauser will take attendees through a typical Profibus PA
engineering and installation process.
This event coincides with the 20th anniversary of Profibus - the world’s most popular
fieldbus. Entry to this event is free of charge and promises to be a beneficial networking
and learning opportunity for all visitors - whatever their professional skill or knowledge
of Profibus.
